Wildcat Girls Play for Shoreline Conference Title Tonight

The Wildcats will be looking to Keelin Hurtt, #13, who scored the winning goal in the semifinal on Tuesday, to make a big contribution tonight.

Paul Gleason’s Wildcats meet sixth-seeded North Branford in the Shoreline Conference final this evening at 5 p.m. at Portland High School.  If the top-seeded Old Lyme girls win,  it will be not only an extraordinary fourth-straight conference title for the ‘Cats, but also an all-time record for the conference.

Old Lyme’s results to date of  14-1-2 puts them in a commanding position over the Thunderbirds, who upset second seeds Cromwell in overtime to reach the final.

A Cappella Concert in New London Tonight Benefits Local Child & Family Agency

The Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut presents an ‘A Cappella Night’ Friday, Nov. 4, at St. James Episcopal Church, 76 Federal St., New London.

Among the performers will be the Tufts University Beelzebubs with whom Johnny Fairfield-Sonn of Old Lyme sings, the Connecticut College ConnChords, the Connecticut College Williams Street Mix, Ledyard High School’s Final Cut & Acabellas, and B.P. Learned Mission Students.  Together they will offer an evening of song and laughter to benefit the programs of Child and Family Agency.

General admission tickets are $25 per person and can be obtained at this link or by sending a check payable to Child & Family Agency with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Jane Bates, 5 Hudson Lane, Niantic, CT 06357.  Sponsorships are available at $100 and admission for students aged 21 and under is $15.

The Friends of the Old Lyme-Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library are hosting a New Member Social tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the library.  All are welcome to join the event, which will offer the opportunity to meet the library’s newly appointed director, Katie Huffman, and to hear more about the work of the Friends that supports this great institution

The event will be held in the library’s historic Reading Room, where refreshments will also be served

Child & Family Welcomes New, Prospective Members to Fall Meeting Tonight

Child & Family Agency’s Lyme/Old Lyme Auxiliary invites current and prospective new members to its Fall Membership Meeting and Dinner this Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Hamburg Cove Yacht Club in Lyme. All are welcome to come and learn more about Child & Family Agency and find out how the Lyme/Old Lyme Auxiliary supports the agency’s work.
New members are always welcome to join the Lyme/Old Lyme Auxiliary and help with our various fundraising events—from the Polar Express and the Cookie Walk during the Holidays, to the Annual Sale in the Spring, and the biennial Lyme/Old Lyme Garden Tour in June 2017.  Give as much time as your schedule allows!
