William Pitt Sotheby’s Names Beth Cote of Old Lyme as Brokerage Manager for its OL, Niantic Offices; Heather Gagnon of OL Takes Same Role for Mystic Office

OLD LYME/NEW LONDON COUNTY — William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty has announced that Beth Cote of Old Lyme, formerly a top-performing real estate agent with the firm’s Old Lyme brokerage, is now Brokerage Manager for the firm’s Old Lyme and Niantic offices.

In addition, Heather Gagnon, also an Old Lyme resident, who previously managed these two locations as well as the firm’s Mystic brokerage, will now have a dedicated role as Brokerage Manager for Mystic. This strategic realignment comes during a period of strong growth for the company in the Connecticut Shoreline region.

Cote brings nearly 30 years of residential real estate sales experience with in-depth knowledge of the Connecticut Shoreline market, and she has consistently ranked among the top producing associates at William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty. She began her career as Rookie of the Year and continued to earn prestigious distinctions with small boutique firms as well as at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage before joining William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty in 2021, where she received the Platinum Sales Award for production in 2021 and 2022.

Cote additionally possesses a marketing and Management Information Systems background and is well-versed in the technology side of real estate, with expertise in social media and digital platform advertising. In her new role, Cote is excited to bring her passion for real estate to benefit and support the firm.

“My goals are to help the company grow its position in the Old Lyme and Niantic markets and to collaborate closely with our agents to help them develop and excel in their businesses,” she said.

Heather Gagnon, also of Old Lyme, who has been instrumental in substantially growing and supporting all three offices, will now shift her management focus to overseeing the Mystic brokerage. She will also help to support growth in the Noank, Groton Long Point and Stonington markets, and in northern areas such as Woodstock and Pomfret as well as Rhode Island.

Old Lyme Boys Storm into Shoreline Semis with Big Win Over East Hampton

OLD LYME— Yesterday afternoon, playing on their home court, the third-seeded Lyme-Old Lyme boys pulled off a convincing 61-46 win over #6 seeds East Hampton in the Shoreline Conference quarter finals.

The Wildcats now advance to the semi-final round where they will meet the second-seeded Morgan away on Tuesday evening. Morgan defeated Hale Ray 64-44 in their quarter final match-up.

Kindergarten Registration Now Open at Lyme-Old Lyme Schools

LYME/OLD LYME — Registration for Kindergarten in Lyme-Old Lyme Schools for the fall of 2024 is now open at Lyme Consolidated and Mile Creek Schools.

Children who will be five-years-old on or before Sept. 1, 2024 are eligible to register for the 2024-2025 school year.

If your child is currently enrolled in the Lyme-Old Lyme (LOL) Schools Preschool, you do not need to register him/her for Kindergarten. Registration is for those students, who do not attend the LOL Schools Preschool.

Registration packets may be picked up at either school. The following are needed for registration:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Three forms of proof of residency

    • While you may complete the registration process at either school, your  child’s school placement will depend on District attendance zones, which are determined in August.

    Senior Night is Victory Night! Old Lyme Soundly Defeats Putnam

    OLD LYME— Monday was Senior Night for the Old Lyme Wildcats and the team rose to the occasion by crushing the Putnam Clippers 66-38. This special night is traditionally the final home game of the regular season and the student section was packed with enthusiastic supporters of the five seniors on the team complete with placards bearing outsize photos of each senior.

    Senior Night brought out a strong showing from the student section.

    Senior Charlie Sahadi scored a team-high 18 points including four three-pointers.

    Wildcat senior Charlie Sahadi adds two more points to the Wildcat lead.

    Fellow senior Jack Porter added 12 points.

    All five seniors provided a formidable defense for the Putnam team.

    Noah Rudman notched 19 points for the Clippers while Nick Devlin added 10 .

    Old Lyme’s Shoreline Conference record is now11-4 with their overall record standing at 14-5.

    The Wildcats have qualified for both the Shoreline and CIAC State Championships. The first game in the Shoreline Tournament is this Saturday . Their opponent will be determined after Wednesday’s game against North Branford.

    Munival of Fairfield Set to Start Old Lyme’s State-Mandated Property Revaluation

    OLD LYME—The Town of Old Lyme is about to commence the state-mandated revaluation project of 2024 with the assistance of Municipal Valuations Services, LLC (Munival) of Fairfield, Conn. (the revaluation company hired to assist the Town with the revaluation).

    This revaluation process will take place from February 2024 through Oct. 31, 2024.

    As part of this process, Municipal Valuation Services will have data collection personnel assigned throughout the Town of Old Lyme taking exterior photos, inspecting, and measuring the exterior and interior of both residential and commercial properties. This means residents and property owners will see company representatives knocking on taxpayer’s doors asking questions.

    Munival will additionally be mailing each property owner a data verification letter. This letter contains information specific to an owner’s property.

    In a press release issued Feb. 15, by the Town of Old Lyme Assessor’s Office, Assessor Melinda R. Kronfeld, CCMA asks property owners, “… to review the information listed on the form, make any corrections directly to the form and return this form back to Munival for review.”

    She adds, “You may return the form either by mail, email, fax or drop off at the assessor’s office (address information will be listed directly on your letter). A drop box will be out front of the assessor’s office.” 

    Kronfeld stresses, “All Munival employees will have a Town badge and a company (Munival) badge on their person, along with a signed letter of introduction. They will also have magnets on their vehicles and the company logo on their attire.”

    She concludes in the press release by saying, “Thank you and we look forward to your cooperation during this time,” adding that property owners should call Municipal Valuation Services at (203)-292-5500 for any additional information or questions.
