‘Willy Wonka Jr.’ on Stage Tonight at Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School

Willy WonkaRoald Dahl’s delicious tale of young Charlie Bucket’s experience with the mysterious confectioner Willy Wonka is on stage in Old Lyme tonight.  The Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School proudly presents Willy Wonka Jr. Saturday, March 1, at the Middle School Auditorium, 53 Lyme St.

Come and see what happens when Charlie wins a golden ticket to the weird and wonderful Wonka Chocolate Factory.  Charlie thinks it’s a dream come true.  But beyond the gates, down the sugary corridors, among the edible delights, the five lucky winners discover not everything is as sweet as it seems.

Two casts of 40 students each will perform Willy Wonka Jr., starring Lauren Mitchell and Natalie Golden as Willy Wonka, and Justin Shaw and Shannon Nosal as Charlie.  The show is directed by the Lyme-Old Lyme Chorale Director, Laura Gladd.  She is assisted by Jennifer Skelly and Heather Saia.

The performance this evening is at 7 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased for $8 in advance of the shows at The Bowerbird, 46 Halls Road in the Old Lyme Marketplace, and at the Lyme-Old Lyme Middle School Office.  Tickets can also be purchased at the door before the shows.
