Former ‘Day’ Columnist King Presents Program at Duck River Garden Club

Holiday_decorationsWriter Carol King Platt, a member of Wallingford Garden Club, hosts a program at Duck River Garden Club this evening, at 7 p.m., at Lymes’ Senior Center, 26 Town Woods Rd.  The program is titled, ‘Holiday Decorations from Nature’s Bounty.’

Carol King Platt is a former contributing editor of House and Garden and for 23 years wrote a garden column for The New London Day.  Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Traditional Home and many local publications.  She takes as her topics the classic themes of great literature, that is to say: Life, Death, Sex, and Rhododendrons.

King Platt lectures regularly about garden design and flower arranging and designs gardens throughout CT, NY, and RI.  She is the past chair of the Landscape Design Council of CT and is a member of The Connecticut Unit of the Herb Society of America.

She was voted one of People, Places and Plants’ top ten New England garden writers.
