View across the Connecticut River.
The Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library welcomes William Hosley to speak on the Connecticut River Valley on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 7 pm. Connecticut’s central valley was one of the major culture hearths of American civilization – blazing trails in art, architecture, technology, industry, agriculture, governance, religion and social reform. Great stories and historical facts provide insights into “the other New England.”
William Hosley, the principal of Terra Firma Northeast, is an independent scholar, cultural resource consultant, planner, writer, and photographer. He was formerly Director of the New Haven Museum and Connecticut Landmarks, where he cared for a chain of historic attractions throughout Connecticut. Prior to that, he worked as a curator and exhibition developer at the Wadsworth Atheneum.
The program is free and open to the public.
The Library is located at 2 Library Lane, off Lyme Street in Old Lyme. Winter hours are Monday andWednesday, 10am to 7pm; Tuesday and Thursday, 10am to 6pm; Friday, 10am to 5pm and Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
