Due to Winter Storm Janus, which is currently in progress, the Town of Old Lyme has announced a parking ban on Lyme Street from 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22.
The latest on the weather is as follows:
This evening and overnight: Travel becoming hazardous this evening with a moderate impact expected overnight as moderate to occasionally heavy snow continues from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
In the Hartford area and Northern CT, moderate snow is expected between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m.with a moderate impact on overnight travel. Very low wind chills are expected to range from -10 f at the coast down to -20 f in Northern CT overnight with northeast winds gusting to 35 – 45 mph at times across the state.
Wednesday morning: Snow ending from West to East between 5 – 8 a.m. Towns can expect a moderate impact on the morning rush hour. Considerable blowing of snow is expected during the morning rush hour across the entire state with temperatures around 10 F and North Winds gusting to 35 mph at times.
Total accumulations are forecast to range from 3” to 5” in the Northwest Hills up to 6” to 9” in a band from Southwestern CT through the Hartford Area and into Northeastern CT. The highest amounts are expected in Southeastern CT with 8” to 11”.
