Four years ago jazz vocalist and composer Dominique Eade performed at the Lyme Public Hall. Since then, many of the nearly 75 people who attended the concert that night have asked when she would come back to Lyme and perform again.
Well, the wait is over — Eade returns to Old Lyme this weekend. An award winning vocalist, she is among the most influential singers of the last 20 years. Eade has forged a style steeped in the jazz tradition yet always pursuing new paths combining original compositions and unique arrangements of both traditional and contemporary songs.
A jazz educator at the New England Conservatory of Music, she is performing with a trio of highly acclaimed musicians from New York City at The Side Door Jazz Club at the Old Lyme Inn this Saturday, Aug. 31, at 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for cocktails.
She will be accompanied by the acclaimed pianist Bruce Barth and the veteran rhythm team of bassist Joe Fitzgerald, who is both a New York City and Lyme resident, and George Schuller on drums. This quartet of musicians has worked together throughout the world for over 30 years.
