Old Lyme Social Service has announced the early start-up for the CT Energy Assistance Program. The Energy Assistance Program provides financial aid toward the primary source of heat for qualifying individuals and families.
The Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) serves low income households in need of assistance for their home energy bills. The program goal is to assist low income households who pay a high proportion of their income toward fuel bills. Priority is given to “vulnerable households” made up of young children, elderly or disabled individuals.
Program services include:
- financial assistance towards a household’s energy bill
- emergency assistance if a household’s home energy service is shut off or about to be shut off
- a range of other energy-related services such as weatherization improvements, utility equipment repair and replacement.
Applications are taken by appointment only and are available Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon, at the Old Lyme Town Hall Social Service Office located on the lower level.
For an appointment, contact Valerie Goncalves, Social Service Coordinator, at 860-434-1605 Ext. 228 or email vgoncalves@oldlyme-ct.gov
