OLD LYME — On Saturday, the Sound View Beach Association (SVBA) hosted another great ‘hometown’ Independence Day parade.

This firetruck had a ‘fireman-in-training’ aboard!

The air was filled with much music, merriment, joy and laughter as large crowds turned out to participate in or watch the years-old tradition.

VFW Post 1467 marched down the parade rout drawing many cheers.

Awards were presented at the end of the parade for best-decorated bike or wagon, most patriotic outfit, best float, funniest outfit and more.
