OLD LYME — Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10, the Ladies Benevolent Society (LBS) hosts its first luncheon of the year at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, 2 Ferry Rd.
In honor of 2020 being the Year of the Woman, the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame presents 300 Years of Connecticut’s Remarkable Women — a multimedia program about some of the state’s most remarkable women, including Ella Grasso, Katharine Hepburn, and Marian Anderson. Learn about women from all fields of endeavor from the arts and sciences to politics and sports.
Plan to arrive between 11:45 a.m. and 12 p.m., as Chef Rick Strickhart’s delicious meal will be served promptly at noon. Admission is $5, plus a donation of a canned good to support the Food Pantry.
All are welcome to attend and bring friends, but RSVPs to the church office at 860-434-8686 today (Monday) would be appreciated (but the LBS stresses that you won’t be turned away if you forget to RSVP!)
The Ladies Who Stitch will also be there with some of their latest creations up for sale. (All sales benefit the church’s ministry and missions.)
The event promises to be an afternoon of great food and good fellowship.
