Lyme-Old Lyme High School senior William DeMott celebrates his success after breaking the 35-year-old LOLHS record for the 400 meters.

Yesterday Lyme-Old Lyme High School (LOLHS) senior William DeMott broke a LOLHS track record in the 400 meters that has stood for 35 years.  The race in which DeMott achieved this success took place at the State Open track and field championships held at Willow Brook Park in New Britain.

DeMott finished in 51.46 seconds breaking the previous record of 51.61 seconds set in 1981 by D. Stanland.
