The senior members of Valley Regional’s boys basketball team have played a big part in some of the championship banners that adorn the walls in their Deep River gymnasium. There are a couple of Pequot Conference football crowns. There’s a Shoreline soccer title. And there’s the big one: the school’s first ever state basketball title … Friday, [Valley] will try and capture the one thing missing from their sterling resume when they face Old Lyme at Hillhouse’s Floyd Little Athletic Center (7 p.m.): a Shoreline Conference basketball championship.
