When a blonde sorority queen is dumped by her boyfriend, she decides to follow him to law school to win him back and, once there, learns she has more legal savvy than she ever imagined.
That, in a nutshell, is the plot of the popular musical being performed by the Old Lyme Players from Lyme-Old Lyme High School. The 2001 original screen version of the novel by Amanda Brown was made famous by the inspired casting of Reese Witherspoon as the girlish sorority president Elle Woods and Luke Wilson as her boyfriend, Warner Huntington III, who will attend Harvard Law School the following year.
Ellie will be played by Paige Palenski on the Lyme-Old Lyme High School stage while Cooper Kendall will fill the shoes of Warner Huntington III.

The show will be performed next Thursday, Feb. 28, Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. each night in the school’s renovated auditorium, and is expected to be sold out at all three performances.
Tickets for reserved seating are available at $15 each at seatyourself.biz which accepts credit cards. Alternatively, general (open) seating is available on a first-come, first served basis at the door at $10.

We have had the pleasure of attending many of the Old Lyme High School programs and value what they offer artistically to the Shoreline Community. This is a very impressive musical attempt at the High School level. Lots of costumes, choreography, scene changes and characters. Bravo Old Lyme players! Can’t wait to see how well you do! Mrs Pekar is a great music director and there are some really talented students that will make this a show to see!
